Impermanance

If you ever want perspective on the material matters of your life, go outside.

I remember one evening sitting overlooking the Loch.

That’s been there for millions of years. I thought to myself. An obvious thought, but it stirred me.

At the time I’d just lost my job in the music school I’d been working with. I was thinking about what to do next. I was still a whole year from launching my tuition business to what it was today. I was unsure of the future, and as well as I hid it from Claire, I was scared.

The Loch? She had other plans.

As I looked down upon her glassine surface, that’s when the thought just dropped into my head like a pebble to the water.

Nature has been here for long before we ever took our first breath, and will be long after we’ve taken our last. Let nature renew you, fulfil you, settle you, and know that this too shall pass.
