There have been many moments
I’ve lived with
on my walks—
a deer’s glance,
a swan gliding through mist,
a sunset burning like fire into the lake.
I wonder about pulling out my phone—
but stop myself,
reminding—
“I’ll never capture this.”
The phone stays—
where it is.
The moment stays—
slowly fading into memory,
like a photograph left out in the rain,
detached,
different from what it truly was.
Dying,
yet alive—
in my heart.
